Kim West Napurrula attended the opening at Japingka Gallery of a large showing of her paintings in August 2013. Her elegant style is classically Pintupi in approach, her paintings beautifully depicting the traditional country with related ceremonies and Dreamings from her homelands.
Kim West Napurrula is the daughter of Freddy West Tjakamarra, a founding shareholder of Papunya art movement, and sister to artist Bobby West Tjupurrula. Kim West Napurrula married Yuendumu George, and has lived mostly at Kiwirrkura community in Western Australia.
Kim West Napurrula’s country is around Marrapinti, and she paints the important Women’s Dreaming site there, and the desert soakages found in the area along the between Western Australia and Northern Territory.
