Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH)

The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston (MFAH) stands as a prominent art institution located in the Houston Museum District, Texas. It is recognized as the 12th largest art museum globally, showcasing a vast collection that spans over 6,000 years of history with around 70,000 works from six continents​​. Its impressive collection is displayed across 300,000 square feet of exhibition space within the museum’s nine facilities, which are part of the Susan and Fayez S. Sarofim Campus​​.

The Caroline Wiess Law Building, designed by architect William Ward Watkin, houses temporary and traveling exhibitions, including installations of Islamic art, Pacific Island and Australian art​​. The Audrey Jones Beck Building displays the permanent collections of antiquities, European, and American art up to 1900, including Impressionist works​​.

The Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, a more recent addition opened in 2020, primarily features galleries for art after 1900 and enhances the museum’s exhibition space by nearly 75 percent​​.
