ArtX Contemporary

About

ArtXchange Gallery, rebranded as ArtX Contemporary, is a notable presence in Seattle’s vibrant art scene, located in the historic Pioneer Square neighbourhood. Established in 1995 by Cora Edmonds, the gallery began as an online entity, eventually transforming into a 2000+ square foot physical space in 2006. Edmonds, with her international background and passion for art, travel, and cultural exchange, envisioned ArtX Contemporary as a platform for global understanding and cultural awareness through art.

The gallery’s ethos is centred around reflecting the diverse influences shaping the region, fostering conversation and connection within the community. It has evolved to include contemporary artists recognised regionally and nationally in the US, alongside international artists. Each artist and exhibition at ArtX Contemporary tells a story, inspiring cultural exploration and encouraging global perspectives.

ArtX Contemporary is known for its dynamic and rotating exhibitions, as well as creative events like artist talks, literary readings, and dance performances. As a member of the Seattle Art Dealers Association, the gallery actively participates in Pioneer Square’s historic First Thursday Artwalk, offering a regular opportunity for art enthusiasts to engage with diverse artistic expressions.
