We have brought together recent paintings that fill us with the thoughts of summer, the rhythms and sounds of the heat and light of summer in the southern hemisphere. We felt that this was a positive resolve after the most unusual year of 2020. Aboriginal artists have continued to paint in studios and communities around the country, although productivity has been reduced. These paintings testify to the resilient culture of the artists and their persistent inclination to express their heritage. Exhibiting artists include Andrew Tjupurrula Highfold, Damien and Yilpi Marks, Mandy Nakamarra Marshall, Sarrita King, Yondee Shane Hansen, Janet Golder Kngwarreye, Abie Loy Kemarre, Maureen Hudson Nampijinpa, Winnie Reid Nakamarra, Jeannie Mills Pwerle and Marcia Reid Nangala.
This online exhibition runs through December and January and all works are available for purchase through online enquiry and will be shipped at the earliest opportunity. Note that Japingka Gallery will close from December 25 to January 3, however we will be receiving online enquiries, so please allow some time over the holiday season for your enquiries to be answered.
