Sounds of Summer 2 displays artworks filled with light and warmth from Indigenous artists. These are some of our favourite artists selected by the team at Japingka. They include emerging and established artists, all of whom add to the bright mood of a collection that reflects the season and the light of summer.
Participating artists include Bernadine Johnson, Belinda Golder Kngwarreye, Naomi Price Pwerle, Genevieve Kemarre Loy, Gracie Morton Pwerle and Jeannie Petyarre from the Utopia Homelands. Jorna Newberry, Nellie Marks Nakamarra, Michelle Butler Nakamarra and Winnie Reid Nakamarra from Western Desert communities. And Elaine Woods, Alison Munti Riley and Janice Woods from APY Lands. The exhibition in an online event that runs through into January 2022. Japingka Gallery will take a holiday break from 24 December to 5 January.
