Small artworks from twelve leading artists, many in the sizes 90 x 60 cm and 60 x 60 cm – small art that makes a substantial statement. Amongst the exhibiting artists are Jeannie Petyarre, Joylene Reid Napangardi, Michelle Butler Nakamarra, Nellie Marks Nakamarra, Genevieve Kemarr Loy, Kellyanne Nungarrayi Gibson, Yinarupa Gibson Nangala and Winnie Reid Nakamarra.
From the artwork description of Winnie Reid – Using the land as a memory map the artist has represented elements of her traditional country from an aerial perspective. The subject matter is always drawn from acute observation and memory, intimate knowledge of country, personal history and ancestral journey. In miniature we see a contemporary translation of the oldest laws and culture, through a modern language that crosses all boundaries.
