Elizabeth Kunoth Kngwarray, Utopia artist b.1961, paints aspects of Yam Dreaming, lives at Mosquito Bore with husband Cowboy Loy Pwerl
Elizabeth Kunoth Kngwarray paints finely detailed aspects of the Yam Dreaming narrative that belongs to Anmatyarre people of the Central Desert. Her closely dotted paintings reflect the precise style of Utopia artists including her mother Nancy Kunoth Petyarre and her aunt Kathleen Petyarre. Her family have been major contributors to the recognisable art creation on the Utopia lands, with her other aunt Gloria Petyarre being one of the most widely known Aboriginal artists at the start of the 21st century.
Elizabeth Kunoth Kngwarray began her painting career in 2005 and has been included in major exhibitions and art prizes over the past decade. Elizabeth also exhibits with her husband, fellow artist Cowboy Loy Pwerl. Aboriginal art status – Established artist.
